Image Cropper

Batch crop a folder of images to your chosen aspect ratio. Ideal for product images, profiles, and e-commerce thumbnails.

  • Crop to 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, portrait, or a custom ratio
  • Skips images already at the target ratio — only crops what needs it
  • Preview grid shows exactly what will be cropped before you commit
  • Loaded folder path displayed for confirmation — no guesswork
  • Automatically saves output to a “Cropped” subfolder inside your loaded folder — or choose a different destination to keep originals separate
  • Supports JPG, PNG, WebP and more — keeps original format by default

  • Three fit modes — Stretch, Contain (padded), or Cover (cropped)
  • Output as JPG, PNG, WebP, or keep original format
  • Loaded folder path displayed for confirmation — no guesswork
  • Automatically saves output to a “Resized” subfolder inside your loaded folder — or choose a different destination to keep originals separate

How it works

01

Download

Click the download button for the tool you need and save the HTML file anywhere on your computer.

02

Open in Chrome

Double-click the HTML file to open it in Google Chrome. No installation required — it just works.

03

Load your images

Click the dropzone or drag your image folder onto it. The loaded folder name is displayed so you always know what’s queued up.

04

Output folder

Optionally choose a custom output folder. If you skip this step, a Cropped or Resized subfolder is created automatically inside your loaded folder — originals always stay untouched.

05

Process & save

Hit the action button and watch the progress bar. Files write directly to your chosen folder as they complete.

Requirements

Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge is required for these tools — Firefox and Safari do not yet fully support the File System Access API that enables direct-to-disk saving. The tools work on both Mac and Windows. No internet connection is needed once downloaded.

Common questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. These tools run entirely inside your browser using local JavaScript. Your images never leave your computer and no data is sent to any server.

Will my original images be overwritten?

No. If you don’t choose a custom output folder, a Cropped or Resized subfolder is automatically created inside your loaded folder. Your originals are never modified. If you prefer, you can always choose a completely separate destination folder before processing.

What image formats are supported?

Both tools accept JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and most common image formats. The Resizer can output as JPG, PNG, WebP, or keep the original format. The Cropper preserves the original format by default, with the same output format options available.

What aspect ratios does the Cropper support?

The Cropper supports 1:1 (square), 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 9:16, 3:4, and a fully custom ratio you can set manually. Images already at the target ratio are skipped automatically.

How many images can I process at once?

There is no hard limit. The tools have been tested with several hundred images in a single batch. Very large batches may take a few minutes depending on your computer’s performance.

Why does Chrome ask for folder permission?

Chrome requires explicit permission before any website or local file can write to your file system. This is a security feature — click Allow to proceed. The permission applies only to the folder you selected.

Can I use these tools on Windows?

Yes. Both tools work on Mac and Windows in Google Chrome. The folder picker will use the native file browser for your operating system.
